About Scotland
We currently have carers in the East of Scotland and the Central Belt providing placements for a wide range of children and young people, especially teenagers. Many of our carers have successful experience as carers as well as relevant previous work or personal experience. We are continually recruiting, training and approving new foster carers in order to be able to offer the widest choice of placements to match with the needs of individual young people.
We focus on the five key areas identified as being essential for children and young people in achieving success. These are:
Being Healthy; Staying Safe; Enjoying and Achieving; Making a Positive Contribution & Achieving Economic Well-being
Our carers are key partners in achieving stability and security for young people and all SWIIS placements are supported by our experienced multidisciplinary teams of social workers, teachers, health and support staff who provide supervision, training, advice and practical support. We have close partnerships with local authorities, families, and other professionals and aim to meet or exceed all of the National Care Standards for foster care and family placment services and achieve the best possible outcomes for each child or young person.
