Thinking About Fostering
SWIIS Foster Care recruits quality foster carers from a wide range of backgrounds. We are always keen to recruit individuals, couples and families who can care for children and young people of all ages - but especially for older children / teenagers and for sibling groups (brothers and sisters who need to stay together)
Being a foster carer is both challenging and rewarding; we offer full support and training to complement your existing skills and experience and we pay realistic fees and allowances to enable you to meet each child's needs as fully as possible. You don't need to be married or have any special qualifications, so, if you live in Scotland or within reach of Newcastle, Darlington, Leeds, Manchester, Derby or Birmingham and have experience of living or working with young people, we want to hear from you.
Benefits you’ll receive from us...
- Full training
- Professional support
- 24-hour advice and back-up
- Paid holidays
- Payments of at least £390 per week
- Professional indemnity insurance*
- Accidental personal injury insurance*
- Accidental home damage insurance*
(*Full details on request)
We will need from you...
- A spare room in your home
- Full-time availability of the main carer
- Good parenting skills
- Experience of living or working with children
- A real interest in helping young people with difficulties.
