No two children are the same and neither are their carers. At SWIIS we believe that the training and support we provide can enable you to do a really good job and play a key role in creating the best opportunities for children and young people.
Do you have?
You don’t need to be married or have a big house. What matters is your skills, personality and ability to understand what young people are going through - and how you could help.
Of course, there are basic conditions that apply to everyone. If you would like more information, please see our FAQ’s section of the site..
But our general advice ? talk to us …contact your local SWIIS Team and speak to their advisors. They will give you impartial advice and, if you agree, send more information and - again with your permission - arrange a visit to talk about the fostering role. In some areas, an existing foster carer will also visit you, so that you can find out first hand, what its really like to be a SWIIS foster carer, from those who know what its like first hand.
If you think that you may be able to join our team in meeting the needs of these particular groups, please do not hesitate to talk about these and many other options through with your local office or complete our register your interest form or click here to see some of our carers own stories.
